Our Story
A Name With
Two Meanings.
The street that shaped her. The date that defines her. This is the story of Twelfth XII.
Hi. I'm AJ.
I'm the founder and president of Twelfth XII. And before I tell you about the brand, I need to tell you where I come from.
I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. A Hutzel baby — born at Hutzel Hospital, right in the heart of the city. I grew up on Linwood. I'm a North End kid through and through. I spent my childhood in rec centers, went to Northwestern High School, and on the block at Walker's Williams on Twelfth Street. I was a latchkey kid — independent early, street smart early, style conscious early.
I went on to graduate from Wayne State University, but Detroit never left me. The 48206. Home of the trendsetters. There's a reason people from Detroit claim their zip — it's not just a number, it's an identity. It tells people exactly who shaped you and where your standard comes from.
Detroit didn't just give me a zip code. It gave me a standard. An understanding that what you wear is a statement about where you've been and where you're going. That's what Twelfth XII is built on. That's all it's ever been.
The name carries
two truths at once.
Ask AJ what Twelfth means and you get one answer with two layers. That's the whole brand right there.
Look closer.
It's always been there.
Most people read the logo and move on. But look at the letters E, L, and F in TWELFTH — they're reversed. Mirrored. Flipped.
That's not a design accident. Those three backwards letters form the shapes of 3 · 1 · 3 — Detroit's area code. The 313 is hidden right inside the name, visible to anyone who knows what to look for.
It's a test, almost. The people from Detroit — the trendsetters, the 48206, the ones who carry the city with them — they see it immediately. Everyone else just sees a name. That's the whole point.
Detroit is in the jewelry. Detroit is in the story. And Detroit is in the letters — right there where it's always been.

We didn't choose moissanite
by accident.
Growing up in Detroit, luxury wasn't handed to you. You earned it, you built it, or you found a smarter way in. AJ found the smarter way in — and she put it in every piece Twelfth XII makes.
The diamond industry has spent a century convincing people that real quality has to be unaffordable. That's not a truth — it's a business model. Moissanite lets us put genuinely brilliant, genuinely durable stones into pieces that real people can actually own. That's not a compromise. That's the whole point of Twelfth XII.
This brand is for
the ones who came up.
Twelfth XII is for the people who know exactly what it cost to get here. The North End kids, the latchkey kids, the 48206, the trendsetters — the ones who learned that how you carry yourself says everything before you say a word.
The trendsetters —
48206 and beyond
Detroit people claim their zip because it means something. The 48206. The North End. Home of the trendsetters — the ones who set the trend before the trend had a name. You don't have to be from the block to carry that energy. But if you are, you already know.
The ones who wear
their come-up
Jewelry isn't decoration. It's a record of where you've been and a signal of where you're going. Every chain, every custom pendant, every piece we make is built to carry that weight.
The ones who gift
with intention
A custom name necklace is not just a gift. It's saying: I see you. Your name belongs in gold. We make the pieces that mark the moments — birthdays, milestones, the days worth remembering.
The ones who know
quality from the jump
You grew up around people who could spot real from fake across the room. You don't need a logo to know something is built right. Twelfth XII is built for that eye. That standard. That taste.
You're not just a customer.
You're the tribe.
The #twelfthtribe isn't a hashtag we invented in a marketing meeting. It's what happens when people who move the same way find each other through a piece of jewelry. Tag us when yours arrives. We built this for you — we want to see you wear it.
#twelfthtribe48206 · Home of the Trendsetters · Built in Detroit. Worn Everywhere.
Now you know
the story.
